It is easy to see that kids today tend to learn technology programs very quickly. When using image manipulation programs in the classroom, you will be amazed at the things that kids will come up with in the classroom. The first thing to do when planning image manipulation program activities, it is important to schedule plenty of time for students to experiment with the program. Kids learn technology so much faster because they are not afraid to try out a lot of different things and play around with the technology.
Give students a clear goal of what they are supposed to accomplish. It is best if the activity has another purpose other than learning an image manipulation program. Students can use the software to accomplish the task. When teaching kids how to use image manipulation programs you should first supply them with an image and ask them to be as creative as possible in altering the image. Give the kids some general tips on how to start manipulating their image, but it is unnecessary to go through every button and switch of the software. Let kids know what types of things can be accomplished and let them explore. Giving out a prize to the most interesting manipulated picture can encourage them to explore the program.
